Sherri Lewis will serve as our hostess and mesmerize us with her many talents. Sherri was the lead singer of the 80’s pop band GET WET that garnered two top 40 hits which led to appearances on American Bandstand, Solid Gold, Merv Griffin, and a European promotional tour.  By 1987 Sherri was at the happiest time in her life.  With a renewed career and engaged to be married Sherri was excited about starting her own family.  So when she went for the routine blood test required for her marriage license she asked for an AIDS test. Expecting to get a clean bill of health she was shocked when her test results came back HIV positive and was handed a death sentence. Twenty-four years later Sherri is healthy and as vibrant as ever!  Sherri became an AIDS counselor, facilitating support groups, as well as writing, producing and starring in her one-woman show “Life is a Beach”.  As a public speaker she speaks regularly for the UCLA/Pacific AIDS Education and Training Center, writes a column for A&U Magazine, and was featured in Poz Magazine, HIV Plus and the Washington Post. She recently performed at the 18th annual DIVAS Simply Singing with Patti LaBelle, Patti Austin, and Sheryl Lee Ralph among others.  Sherri is the former host of here!
